Gulab Jamun-Indian Sweet
I know everyone loves Gulab Jamun,
As I mentioned in my previous articles, I hate when the cooking procedure gets too tough, believe me, this recipe is so simple and gives perfect Gulab Jamun.
Here in Dubai, I can find ready made Gulab Jamun in everywhere but those are high in sugar. So I thought of making low sugar Gulab Jamun. Anyway, you can adjust it according to your taste.

Volumized balls |
Milk powder 1 cup
Plain flour 1tbsp
Veg.Oil/Ghee2tsp ( I used ghee)
White Sugar 1cup (I used 1cup if you want you can add more sugar into this recipe)
Water 2cups ( Sugar: Water=1:2)
Salt 1/4tsp
Baking soda 1/4tsp
Boiled milk 2-3tbsp
Cardamom 2-3 pods
Oil to deep fry
I made 10 Gulab Jamuns from this recipe.
Step 1- Get a pan add water, sugar, and cardamom brings it to boil and simmer for few min in low flame. This is your Sugar Syrup.
Step 2- Get a bowl, add milk powder, plain flour, salt, baking soda and ghee/veg.oil. Mix well.
Step 3- Make a dough by adding boiled milk into the mixture
The dough should not be watery. so add milk carefully.
Step 4- Make small balls out of the dough.
During the deep fry, these balls tend to be volumized. therefore, make small portions.
Step 5- Now you are ready to deep fry these balls. Oil should not be too hot!
In order to test it, Just drop a small piece of dough into the hot oil. The piece should stay at the bottom of the oil pan for a while before it floats. Once you make sure the right temperature, add the dough balls into it and keep stirring it to avoid burning.
