Simple Caramel Pudding

I started preparing this yummy pudding from 2001 with the instruction of my home-science teacher at Southlands college, Galle, Sri Lanka. I was about 12 years old and I still remember the way she taught us to try new recipes.

This is one of my favorite desserts because, it is yummy and very easy to prepare it. I find this recipe easy with baking in oven for 20-30min, at 180'C rather steaming it on the stove.

You will need ingredients as below:

  • Condensed milk  1 tin large
  • Eggs                    3 large
  • Water                   1/2 of the condensed milk tin (just wash that tin away with water)
  • Cardamom           2-3 pods
  • Salt                      1/5 tsp
  • Sugar                   1 cup for caramel
If you are making this pudding for a big crowd and if it is expensive to buy enough condensed milk, then simply use the evaporated milk with enough sugar. It gives the same taste as condensed milk and cost effective 😜

  1. Step- Get a blender and blend all the ingredients as i mentioned above.
  2. Step- Caramelise sugar and pour it to the baking tray, let it crystallised at the bottom of the tray.
  3. Step-  Pour the blended condensed milk into the tray and cover the top with the aluminium foil to avoid burn.
  4. Step-  Bake it at 180'C for 20-30min. After 30min test with a toothpick, if necessary leave it for another 10-15min at the same temperature.
  5. Step- Upside down, leave it overnight in fridge and enjoy 💓
Thank you!
